For the most part, I tend to style a lot of looks around what you would wear after work hours. I think it is because I am most comfortable in jeans and I like shoes, in particular high heels. So, I thought I would show a look from day to night based around a simple blue/green top. A lot of the pieces that I found are from Mango. I am not that familiar with the store, but it looks like it has some great jackets and tops at a reasonable price. Have you ever shopped there and what did you think?

With the official start of baseball in a few days, I thought I would do a post on baseball jackets - which are a trend this spring. My favorite is #2 - I like the leopard print and the perforated neon sleeves. I have never ordered anything from Shopbop. It seems pretty risk free to try out - since there is free shipping both ways and no sales tax.

Look for Less: Printed Jacket

If you are looking for a cropped printed jacket this spring/summer, I have found two options - an investment piece by Helmut Lang or a more budget-friendly option by The Limited. I like the Pheasant print (or somewhat snake-like, as it looks to me) of the Helmut Lang jacket with the solid black panels; however, I like the mix of reds/greens/blues with the black and white of The Limited jacket. I don't think you can tell in the picture, but The Limited jacket has a satin (more shiny) finish. Also, it is only $36, which is mark down from $128. If you want to try a printed jacket this season, but don't make the investment, I think the Limited jacket is a great option.

I have been thinking about this striped jacket at Gap (and this other one with neon coral stripes, too). I like the pop of the coral color under the lapel and on the cuffs. In putting this outfit together, I decided to pull in some of the other big trends this season with a floral statement necklace and some relaxed, rolled boyfriend jeans. And, for shoes, a classic black pump, but with an open side detail.

Why do I shop at Nordstrom? Nordstrom is one of my favorite places to shop, and it does not surprise me that recently they moved ahead of Kohl's to the #1 spot as the nation's most popular fashion retailer. If I ever have to talk to customer service (which I very rarely do), I know that they will be easy to talk with and will resolve my problem without a lot of hassle, which is not the experience I have had with other stores. Also, since they started offering free shipping both ways, it makes it an easy and risk free process to try things since the nearest Nordstrom store is over two hours away. I wish they would expand their Rack offerings online, but I know that they are moving forward with 14 new Nordstrom Rack stores this year.

When you are shopping online have you ever wondered how different pieces may go together - well, H&M has this fun "Try On" dressing room feature that does just that. That is how I created the three styled looks today. I wish every store had this feature. It is a great way to see what something looks like when shopping online. The only draw back is that sometimes I would like to see the jacket open and not zipped/buttoned up or the boyfriend jeans rolled up.

The black and white trend is all over the blog world (I even did a post on it recently), but today I thought I would add a twist by throwing pink in to the mix. The color combo of pink, black, and white, especially in stripes seems to be another big trend this spring.

NOTE: The NARS lipstick was not on sale, and usually I buy CoverGirl lipstick (for like $9) but I have seen other bloggers talk about NARS lipstick and how great it is, so I thought I would give it a try. So far, I love the color (Afghan Red); however, it is a little dry and the color builds up, if I re-apply, so I am not sure about this.

Are you looking forward to the Super Bowl on Sunday? What's your favorite part - the commercials, half-time show, the actual game? I have been somewhat disappointed with the commercials the past few years, so I hope this year there are some great ones!
