Loft shows the look with a caramel belt and shoes. This is a little too matchy-matchy for me, so I thought I would change it up with black platform heels. They still have a brown heel, which ties in with the belt color but is a little less heavy than an all black sandal. I thought I would add a clear statement necklace with a coral accent ribbon, which is a steal at H&M for $7.95!

One of my favorite trends recently is the statement necklace. For the past few years, I have worn mostly long chain necklaces, but recently, I have started to wear the shorter, bolder necklaces. At first, I was afraid to wear them because I thought they were too showy or gaudy, but now, I am glad I gave them a try. I like how they add a focal point to an outfit and add different pops of color. They dress up any outfit - from a basic tee to a dress. If you are thinking of giving a statement necklace a try - I would encourage you to try the trend.

I have been thinking about this striped jacket at Gap (and this other one with neon coral stripes, too). I like the pop of the coral color under the lapel and on the cuffs. In putting this outfit together, I decided to pull in some of the other big trends this season with a floral statement necklace and some relaxed, rolled boyfriend jeans. And, for shoes, a classic black pump, but with an open side detail.

Why do I shop at Nordstrom? Nordstrom is one of my favorite places to shop, and it does not surprise me that recently they moved ahead of Kohl's to the #1 spot as the nation's most popular fashion retailer. If I ever have to talk to customer service (which I very rarely do), I know that they will be easy to talk with and will resolve my problem without a lot of hassle, which is not the experience I have had with other stores. Also, since they started offering free shipping both ways, it makes it an easy and risk free process to try things since the nearest Nordstrom store is over two hours away. I wish they would expand their Rack offerings online, but I know that they are moving forward with 14 new Nordstrom Rack stores this year.

This outfit is a combination of some of my favorite items and current trends - striped skirts and studded sandals. I styled this look to be a little more casual with a denim jacket, but it could easily be dressed up with a black blazer, leather jacket, or cardigan.

I love sales. When I get an email blast about a sale, I almost always check it out. So, when I got a message from The Limited about their mix and match sale (buy one, get one free - jacket, pant, skirt) and this floral jacquard sheath dress caught my attention - on sale for $60 - I thought I would check out the deals. While on the site, I noticed that they are having 40% off handbags, and I saw that these foldover clutches were on sale for a great price ($24-28). The foldover clutch in the chevron print reminds me of the Tom Ford dress that Jennifer Aniston wore for the premiere of Wanderlust. Besides these foldover clutches, there are other great handbags - such as a black/white polka dot clutch, snake print bucket bag, colorblock wristlet, and many more.

Destroyed (distressed) denim, floral print, and leather are all hot trends right now, so I thought I would group them together for a look. In my closet, I do not own item with a polka dot print. For the most part, I am not a print person; however, when I saw this look and this one, too, I started to give polka dots some consideration. Recently, I found some great polka dot pieces at J. Crew Factory, and I thought I would mix up some prints and colors with the polka dots for a classic yet playful look. What do you think?

Camouflage print and Gap "the new skimmer" jeans seem to be a trend this spring, of which I own neither; however, if I was to purchase them, this is how I would style them. Also, last year, I purchased a denim jacket from American Eagle, and I love it! I had tried jackets from several different places and this one had the best fit and look. So, if you are looking for a denim jacket, I highly recommend giving this one a try.

I do the majority of my shopping online and for the most part, I usually only buy items that are on sale. Right now is a good time to find great deals, since stores are trying to move out their winter merchandise to make room for the new spring and summer collections.

NOTE: The NARS lipstick was not on sale, and usually I buy CoverGirl lipstick (for like $9) but I have seen other bloggers talk about NARS lipstick and how great it is, so I thought I would give it a try. So far, I love the color (Afghan Red); however, it is a little dry and the color builds up, if I re-apply, so I am not sure about this.
