 I thought I would share part of an Easter devotion from my favorite pastor.

"Hope is one of the most emotionally packed words in any language. When it is spoken, the impossible suddenly becomes possible, where darkness is overtaken by light and despair turns to joy. Because of Christ’s resurrection, we have hope—not only for the future but also for the past and present."

I know this year many people are struggling.  If you are having a rough time or know some that is - I pray that you can find hope and encouragement this Easter season.

Spring Trends: Blush Leather Jacket + 90s AGOLDE Jeans

Hope you are having a great week!

These 90s AGOLDE jeans are everywhere!  As far as sizing, if you are thinking about buying them they run big.  I typically wear a 24/25 in jeans, and I got a 23 - and they are still roomy.  Also, they don't have any stretch - and are 100% cotton - but still they are pretty generous in the fit.  Plus, they are definitely high rise. 

That blush leather jacket I have had for a few years.  It was a great investment. I love the soft shade of pink - and I get compliments when I wear it.

Lastly, those snake booties I bought two seasons ago - and I have worn them a lot! Amazingly, they are still available - and for a good price. They are comfy - and a great bootie to own.  As far as sizing, I sized down.  I typically wear a 7M, and I bought the 6.5M and it fits perfectly.

My encouragement today is to not focus on the "fear of failure" but rather the possibilities.  It is easy to go down the path of looking at everything negative that could happen - because bad things can happen; however, the more we focus on all the negative - the more chance we may never see or achieve the all the good and blessings in life. 

The quote below is from this book that I read recently and really enjoyed - and highly recommend if you need some encouragement to move forward in life.

"Simply put, our brains are wired to give more importance to negative events than positive ones. So “bad” events influence our decision-making more than positive ones. That means no matter how much we want to succeed, avoiding “bad” events can easily become our primary goal."

What I Eat Each Day + Favorite Foods

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a great weekend.

I shared this cardigan last week - in lilac purple and ivory.  It is under $20 - and a great deal for spring/summer.  Also, today, I thought it would be fun to share what I eat each day - and some of my favorite foods and recipes.

WHAT I EAT EACH DAY...

BREAKFAST

I eat oatmeal every day.  I mix these oats with these oats - and top it with fresh blueberries and a little of this cinnamon.  I do not add any sugar - only a little salt to the water. Also, I make it on the cooktop - so much better than the microwave!  While it is cooking I make my salad for lunch.

LUNCH

I pretty much eat a salad every day for lunch.  A few of my favorites...

Salad #1: Mixture of chopped greens (kale, green leaf and Brussels sprouts) topped with my favorite dried cherries and cranberries, fresh blueberries, and almond slices and walnuts with an apple cider vinaigrette dressing.  Some times I mix in bacon and blue cheese.

Salad #2: Mixture of chopped greens (green leaf, romaine, radicchio), chick peas, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, blue cheese with a dijon vinaigrette. You can also add egg, but I don't.

I make all my salad dressings from scratch.  They are pretty simple - 1 part acid (vinegar or lemon juice) to 2 parts olive oil with a little salt and pepper, and either dijon mustard, garlic, shallots, or herbs - depending on the salad.

DINNER

A few of my favorite dinners I make...

This simple and easy 3-ingredient roast chicken.

My favorite meatloaf.

This chicken with red onions and a lot of flavor - and super easy.

Steaks with peppercorns and brandy sauce. 

Chicken served with curry sauce, hummus or mole sauce. 

Stir fry - with chicken or beef - and veggies and rice. 

As much as I love the good food at home - I still enjoy my favorite burger and fries and pizza!

DESSERT

Two of my desserts - this super easy and quick lava chocolate cake.  

And, my favorite ice creams - this flavor and this one.

My Spring Outfit Favorites + New Sandals

Happy Friday!

I thought I would share my spring outfit favorites and these new braided summer sandals that I just bought - and can't wait to wear.  These popular spring/summer sandals will look great styled with jeans, denim shorts, and skirts.

And, my classic denim/jean shorts are a favorite that I have had for years!  They are definitely my "go to" shorts.  I have worn and washed them so much the fraying is making them a little short - although I love the worn-in look and don't want to stop wearing them.

Pink Sweatshirt, Crop Flare Jeans + Animal Print Sneakers

Happy Wednesday!

One of my goals with this blog was to stay true to my style.  In putting this spring outfit together, I am drawn to the overall style - but I step back and wonder - would I wear this?  The twist front sweatshirt - I would wear.  Would I wear it in pink?  Maybe.  I tend to gravitate towards white or black, but a pop of color is nice once and awhile.  As far as sneakers, I love the way they look on everyone, but I have not gotten in to wearing them; however, I really like those animal print ones - with the shiny silver.

So, yes, I might wear this look. Also, I love skinny jeans - but I know the jean trend is shifting to more of a straight leg, with a crop/flare.  I just ordered a pair of crop flare jeans - so we will see how it goes - and if I keep them.
