Best of Winter Sales + Ways to Be More Productive

And, it’s Friday.

I am sharing a round-up of the most popular and best winter sales.  There are so many great deals - so many that I just want to shop!

Also, I wanted to share this very popular pin on Pinterest.  I thought the trend of over the knee boots might be fading - but this outfit is going strong.

My encouragement today is on time management.  If I am being honest, I am feeling very unproductive in this area. In my "real job" as a product manager, I am great, but when it comes to my personal life, and trying to grow my side businesses, I somewhat feel like a failure most days.  I know "failure" is a harsh word, but I feel defeated at times.  I know I need to give myself some slack because I am juggling a lot of things right now; however, in wanting to find ways to improve, I found this article on 20 powerful tips to improve time management.

1. Create a time audit.
When it comes to time management, the first step you need to take is finding out where your time actually goes. You may believe that you only send 30 minutes on emails, but in reality that task is eating-up an hour of your day...

2. Set a time limit to each task.
I've found that setting a time limit to each task prevents me from getting distracted or procrastinating. For example, if I want to write an article for my blog, I give myself two hours. So if I started at 8am, I try to get it written by 10am...

3. Use a to-do-list, but don’t abandon tasks.
“All goals and projects are made up of smaller parts that need to be accomplished in order to achieve the goal, or complete the project. Create to-do lists for each goal and project, listing all the measurable steps that need to be accomplished,” suggests William Lipovsky.

4. Plan ahead.
One of the worst things that you can do is wake-up without a plan for the day. Instead of focusing on what needs to be done, you wander aimlessly and take care of more trivial matters...

I think this next one will stick in my head...
5. Spend your mornings on MITs.
Mark Twain once said, "If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And If it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first."

Gross? Sure. But, the point that Twain was making that you should take care your biggest and most-challenging tasks in the morning, aka your most important tasks (MITs) of the day...

You can read the remaining 15 HERE.
I have to say #17 on the list is one I wish was an option for me.

And, now on to the style and fashion...

  3. Yeah, last year I thought OTK boots might not last another year, but now I think they're sticking around a bit longer. Hopefully next year too! And I totally understand those discouraging feelings! I think most of us who do this struggle with that. Thanks for sharing your time management tips and motivation!

  5. That is good advice! I find I'm most productive in the mornings so I lick to tackle the big things then - works well in the office although at home it requires getting up before the boys when I'm home with them for the day, haha!

Hope you have a fun weekend planned! We have a birthday party to go to today :)
