How to Wear Stripes, Leopard and Red

As I have mentioned before, leopard is probably my favorite print.  It mixes so well with red and pink (this look happens to be one of my top viewed posts recently), neutral, and even stripes like this look.  I think this leopard biker jacket is something that could be worn so many different ways and become a wardrobe staple, plus it is under $60.  I included it in my 15 piece colorful spring wardrobe.  Also, how cute are these loafers that are only $30.

1. Leopard Biker Jacket: Nordstrom Rack // 2. Sunglasses: H&M // 3. Lipstick: MAC
4. Lip Pencil: MAC // 5. Striped Tee: J. Crew // 6. Bag: ZAC Zac Posen
7. Jeans: H&M (Only $10) // 8. Loafers: H&M (Similar HERE)

Today is Shopbop's buy more, save more sale. Here are just a few of my top picks from the sale.

1. These off the shoulder chambray and white tops would be perfect for spring, as well as the bell sleeve tops.

2. All these ruffle tops and off the shoulder tops are so fun - and a great price with the sale.

3. With spring/summer coming, I always like to wear a simple necklace with my t-shirts.  This is one of my favorite brands - because of its great quality.  They have some cute necklaces, like the star one.

4. This is my favorite denim brand - and I love their skinny jeans.  These are an investment - so I  always wait for sales to buy them.  I also shop for them on sale here, too.

5. With spring break trips coming up for a lot of people, these fun off the shoulder dresses would be perfect for a night out.  (Be sure to sort the list by "Price Low to High" for the best deals.)

These tops are on sale, too - aren't they cute...

Ruffle Sweaters & Shearling Loafers for Less

You have may have noticed the ruffle sweaters, shearling loafers and quilted bags are all over.  They are some of the big trends right now.  I have found some almost identical dupes.  I love the softness of the open shoulder top at the top, and I have the ruffled sleeve sweater in off white.  This past winter I wore it a lot - and always felt so dressed up wearing it.

1. Ruffled Sweater: H&M // 2. Shearling Loafer: Steve Madden (Also here) // 3. Ruffle Sleeve Sweater: H&M
4. Quilted Crossbody Bag: Forever 21 // 5. Ruffled Sweater: Club Monaco
6. Shearling Loafer: Gucci // 7. Ruffle Sleeve Sweater: Club Monaco // 8. Quilted Crossbody Bag: Chanel

I cannot believe tomorrow is the last day of February.  Here is what I bought in February.

1. I have been looking for a pair of leopard booties with a chunkier heel - and I finally found a pair that I like.  I had been watching for them to go on sale - and they are as low as $34. I typically wear a 1/2 size larger in this brand, but for these I had to get my usually size.

2. I bought these really cute peep toe/bootie sandals for only $43 - and I can’t wait to wear them this spring/summer.

3. This sweater is my favorite.  It is so soft and comfy, and it comes in three different colors and is on sale for $17 (with the additional 40% off)!

4. This waffle knit turtleneck sweater is only $21!  I have worn it so much already - and it still looks brand new (and after washing it twice - it still looks great).  I actually love it so much I bought another one.

5. This boucle sweater is also $21 - and so comfy.

Men's Business Casual Look for Less and Style Tips

1. Shirt: H&M // 2. Belt: John Bartlett (Only $20) // 3. Pants: H&M
4. Dress Shoes: Alfani (Only $40) // 5. Shirt: Hugo Boss  // 6. Belt: Magnanni
7. Pants: Hugo Boss // 8. Shoes: Magnanni

I typically do not post about men’s fashion, but this week I was so excited when I found a “save” version of a similar belt that cost a lot more.  For the past year, I have been trying to find the right belt to match my husband’s shoes - and the closest I could find was this one that cost $150.  I was not about to spend that much on a belt.  Then, this week, I found an almost identical dupe for only $20.

So, today I thought I would put together a men’s business casual look using the belt I found to show a save vs. splurge business casual men's look.

I do most of the shopping (and styling) for my husband - so I thought I would share a few tips I have learned, along with some basic wardrobe pieces.

1. Always match the belt to the shoes.  If you are wearing black shoes match it with a black belt, and same with brown shoes and brown belt.  And, match the browns.  Do not put an orange cognac shoe with a burgundy belt - or vice versa.

2. Do not wear a tie unless you plan to wear a sport coat, suit jacket, or sweater with the outfit.  I think the best way to sum up this concept is a quote from one of my favorite men's fashion sites that says - “Shirt, tie and no jacket is the wedding uniform of a nine-year-old.” (Source)

1. Nice pullover sweater that can be layered over a button down shirt and worn with dress pants or jeans.  The sweater can be crew (40% off), v-neck (40% off) or 1/4 zip (40% off).

2. Dress pants (great options $35 and under) that do not have pleats and are hemmed correctly.  You want the hem to have a slight break in the front on the shoe, but if they break in the back (or sides) they are too long.  See this article for more details on pant length.

3. A trim (but not too tight) dress shirt (33% off).  The shirt should not be baggy, like you could layer several shirts and your winter parka under it.  On the other side, it should not be so tight that it looks like you could pop a seam if you flexed.  These dress shirts are awesome. They are no iron, and they really do not need to be ironed.

4. A simple tee (only $10) - that looks expensive, but it does not have an expensive price tag.  You need a couple of go-to tees that you can wear under a blazer with jeans or casually with jeans or shorts.  If you want a more expensive tee - I really like the quality of these. They are really soft and are made of a thicker pima cotton. I buy them when they are on sale - and right now, these are 40% off.

5. Jeans - where do I start.  The bedazzled back pocket jeans need to go.  There was an article about just that in The Onion this week.  Invest in an updated pair of slim jeans (designer ones as low as $55).  Also, baggy jeans (circa 2006 and Tatum Channing in Step Up) and the Obama mom jeans need to go to, too.  You want a trim legged jean - not skin tight - just trimmer.

6. Dress shoes for dress pants and suits, and even worn with jeans (and the sweater from #1).  One black and one brown pair.  And, matching belts in black (only $20 and reversible with two colors) and brown (only $20).

7. Sneakers.  I just bought these (similar here) for my husband. They are $30 and are trendy but not too hip for someone that does not want to do the whole athleisure thing.

Just FYI - if you have signed up to receive my posts by email and you did not receive my post (about these really cute ruffle tops and designer bags for less) yesterday, it might have ended up in SPAM because mine did.  To prevent that in the future, you may want to add my address to your email.  Also, post emails get sent out between 9:30-11:00 (Eastern) each morning I post.  I typically post at 6:00 in the morning - so if you would like the email to go out earlier I can do that - just let me know.  Lastly, if you have not signed up - you can in my side bar.

Thanks for reading!  And, this weekend I will be sharing more top 5 deal posts - I plan to show some great price matching items.

Black Ruffle Sweater & White Ruffle Blouse

4. Smocked White Blouse: H&M // 5. Black Skinny Jeans: H&M (Only $10)
6. Embroidered Floral Bag: Shein (Only $30) // 7. Denim Skinny Jeans: H&M (Only $20)

10. Retro Lip Gloss: MAC // 11. Eyeliner: MAC // 12. Ankle Booties: H&M (Under $60)

This look all started with this black ruffle sweater that is only $35.  It is hard to miss - but ruffled sleeves are everywhere - and I really like this ruffle sweater.  It reminds me of the Club Monaco one that costs a lot more.  With this look, I knew I wanted to add in a pop of red - and then, I found this fun whimsical Kate Spade bag with birds and hearts - but it was almost $400 - so, I looked around and found this bag that looks like a mix between the Zac Posen and Dolce & Gabanna bags but for only $30 - and it comes in three other colors.  Also, I love the buckle boots in this look - that are under $60.

When I found that red floral bag, I also found so many other bags that were such close dupes of the designer bags - but for a fraction of the cost - like less than $20 for a lot of them.  So, if you like the look of a designer bag - you might want to check these out.

This spring staple wardrobe is built around a lot of the same pieces - like skinny jeans and black booties, but I added a few pops of color for spring.  Also, these looks show how just switching out a pink sweater for a yellow cardigan can change up an entire look.  A lot of these pieces are very budget friendly, like the tote that is only $15 (and also comes in beige).  You can add the necklace for only $12.

Also, I thought I would share the top five items that had the most interest in the last couple of weeks. They are all great deals.

A Peachy Day to Night Look

1. Earrings: H&M (Only $8) // 2. Blouse: H&M (Only $20) // 3. Tote: H&M ($35)
4. Suit Pants: H&M ($40) (Add a Jacket) // 5. Fringe Loafers: Steve Madden (Also in Pink)
6. Earrings: H&M // 7. Top: Anna Sui // 8. Bag: Nordstrom (Only $20)
9. Skirt: H&M // 10. Lipgloss: Jouer // 11. Sandals: Madewell (40% off)

I thought I would do something a little different and create a day and night look.  These snake print pants might be a little much for a "professional" office - but I thought they were a fun way to dress up a work look from just regular dress pants.  And, I kept the blouse and shoes simple to balance the pants.  Also, how pretty is the lace top and the tulle skirt for the night look.

I bought these sandals the other week. They were only $43!  They came yesterday and I love them. They are the most comfortable sandals and I know I will get a lot of wear out of them.  I am even considering getting them in black.  I highly recommend them if you are looking for some fun sandals. (Sizing note: I typically wear a 1/2 size bigger in this brand - but for these I ordered my regular size and they fit perfectly.)

I have been looking for some cropped girlfriend or boyfriend jeans.  There are so many options - and they look so cute on everyone.  I have thought about cropped straight jeans (with a folded up cuff - which was a really big trend I noticed during NYFW), but I am not sure. What are your thoughts on the girlfriend/boyfriend/cropped trend?  I have mixed opinions.

Also, if you looked at any street style at NYFW, you may have notice that fur jackets were everywhere.  I bought this cozy fur/shearling-like jacket before Christmas and I love it.  It comes in three different colors - and it is as low as $33.

8. Rings: H&M (Set of four - Only $8) // 9. Sneakers: Converse

Last week I styled a bold leopard look with red and pink - and this week I am toning it down a bit with more neutral colors.  I like leopard styled both ways - they are both great ways to style leopard.

1. Ruffles are all all over this season - and this fun black ruffle sweater is only $35.

Lace Top and Pink Jacket Outfit Ideas

1. Lace Blouse: H&M // 2. Sunglasses: H&M (Only $10) // 3. Lace Camisole: H&M ($25)
4. Ring: BP (Only $7) // 5. Vintage High Waist Jeans: H&M

9. Embroidered Floral Bootie: Topshop (Gold Heel Option $45) // 10. Ankle Booties: H&M ($50)

I struggled a bit to put this look together - but in the end, I am really happy with how it turned out.  It is funny how these come together. I usually have an idea in my head, then look around online to find different pieces, but for this day, I thought I was going to put together a look styled around this leopard top that was only $15 - but the look just was not coming together.  So, then, I abandoned that idea, and thought I would style something around these floral satin jackets - this red one and this black one, but I didn't like that either - and then I found this lace top and it all just worked.

This look is made up of a lot of budget items - that bag is only $20, the ring $7 and the sunglasses are under $10.  And, the jeans, boots, jacket and top are really great deals, too.

I hope you have a special Valentine's Day!

Leopard Coat Style with Red and Pink

Source: Who What Wear

1. Leopard Coat: Topshop (Similar option) // 2. Sunglasses: H&M ($10) // 3. Lipstick: MAC
4. Lip Pencil: MAC // 5. Blouse: H&M ($18) (Sleeveless Lace Option)
6. Suede Bag: H&M ($30) (Also in Mustard and Beige) // 7. Charm Bracelet: H&M ($10)
8. Pants: J. Crew (Tie option // Ankle option - both on sale!) // 9. Pumps: H&M ($25)

Okay, this bold look may not be for everyone, but I love how bright pink and red looks with leopard.  It is so stunning.  If it is too much color, you could always swap out the red pants for jeans. Also, after I put this together I realized that the pants may not have been red in the picture but pink - but the red really works well.

You may have noticed that pink is definitely trending on my blog.  I loved the embroidered floral moto jacket I styled with blush yesterday. It may be one of my favorites of all time.  I also looked back through some of my old posts - and I love this look I styled for spring with the utility jacket and lace up sandals, or this pink sweater with black.

I spent the weekend cleaning up my Pinterest boards.  I did not like how they were organized - so I have now created categories for colors, such as black, pink, red - and patterns - plaid or stripes, and have other boards for all my “Save vs. Splurge” - “Outfit ideas” and “Copy the Look”.  I am very happy with how it all turned out (given the amount of work). So, if you have ever wanted to look through all my "Save vs. Splurge" posts - you can now do that.

1. This leopard scarf is cute, versatile and only $19. This one is also a great deal and only $13.

2. This leopard bag is only $10!  It has a detachable strap so it can also be used as a clutch.  Two bags in one for a great price.

3. These pink suede loafers are so pretty and would be perfect for spring!  Plus, they are a great deal!

4. This red skirt is so flirty and fun and is only $25.  It would look great dressed up with leopard pumps or worn casual with sneakers.

5.  This cozy sweater is on sale for only $15 and it comes in five other colors.

4. Embroidered Flower Moto Jacket: H&M ($60) // 5. Jeans: H&M ($20)
6. Shoulder Bag: H&M ($20) // 7. Jeans: H&M ($20)
8. Booties: H&M ($70) // 9. Booties: H&M ($50)

It has been so long since I did a "how to style something two ways" post.  I believe the last one was in August - I cannot believe it!  I forgot how much I enjoy the challenge of putting them together. And,  I love how this came together - the softness of the pink with the hardness of the black works perfectly.  Embroidered flowers are a big trend for spring 2017.

Both of these looks have been put together with budget items - everything is under $70 - and most pieces are around $20!

Are you looking for some Valentine's Day gift ideas... here are some save and splurge options.  This small camera bag is only $20 and looks just like the Chanel one.  It also comes in off white, black, and silver for $20.  And, how cute are these heart and "I love you" necklaces.

1. I would like to thank The Budget Babe for the sweet comment about my blog this past weekend.  I cannot tell you how much it made my day!

2. I was just introduced to this jewelry company and their collection of necklaces, bracelets, and rings.  Pendant necklaces are one of my favorites because they are a great way to dress-up a casual look and make it feel more polished and less basic.  This gold pendant necklace would be perfect worn with a simple black tee.  (Also, just in case you missed it - I shared my top 5 accessories this past weekend.)

3. If you love chocolate as much as I do and would love to learn how to make truffles at home - I am sharing my easy 3 ingredient chocolate truffle recipe on The Blended Blog today.  And, you read it correctly - you can make truffles with three easy steps and just three ingredients.

4. This pink beauty - is over 60% off and is so pretty.  This bag looks just like the Chanel one - and is the perfect blush color.
