Fall is probably my favorite season.  I love the smell in the air, the changing of the leaves and the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas season.  There is always an excitement about fall for me. And, with fall, comes Halloween.  I always had fun when I was younger dressing-up and going trick-or-treating.  I think I got more excited about my costume than I did the candy.  Many of my costumes my mom handmade.  I think my favorite by far was my cheerleader costume.

If I had an endless budget, I would love to decorate my whole house in fall decorations. I would might do a lot of my shopping at Nordstrom and Crate & Barrel - they have such great fall decorations.  I always look forward to seeing what they have.  In thinking about decorating, I might buy these - they are both decorative and functional. Or, I like these twinkle lights - I am not sure where I would put them, but they look cozy.

(*Nordstrom offers free shipping both ways - so there is no additional cost or risk.)

So, in preparation for fall, this is what is on my fall "to do" list.  I can already check #1, 3, 4, 7, and 8 off my list, and I am daily working on #9.

fall, leaves, pumpkins, apple pies, what to do

THOUGHT OF THE DAY
"Whatever you hold in your mind will tend to occur in your life. If you continue to believe as you have always believed, you will continue to act as you have always acted. If you continue to act as you have always acted, you will continue to get what you have always gotten. If you want different results in your life or your work, all you have to do is change your mind."
- From a new book I just got.

This week I have been hit by a wave of motivation to handle something I have put off, dreaded, and tried to forget.  I called someone I had hesitated calling.  I feared how they might respond to my call.   And, all my fears were just that - fears.  For the first time, this person heard me, said they would help me, and had such compassion for what I have wanted to know.  It meant so much.  It made me realize that I need to stop letting others determine my worth - or what I can accomplish.  For the past year, I've been told "NO" so many times, I started to devalue my worth and right to have answers.  I am finally allowing myself to know that I am entitled to answers - and that I can fight to seek the answers I want - within reason.  So, yes, what you think and believe - does influence how you feel.  (And, don't let others tell you otherwise.). Today, I am working on changing my thinking.  And, most importantly, I need to remember that I can accomplish all things through Him who strengthens me.

  10. Way to meet your fear head-on and move forward. I truly believe that we can handle just about anything if we just know whatever it is we are up against. Often times, my fear and dread is so much worse than the reality of the situation. Will save a sample of the Meyer's book on my Nook to check out. I can always use a little motivation and encouragement. Proud of you, sweet one!
