The Cardigan Set: Spring Trend 2021

What's in - What's out for spring fashion. 

A new "whats-in" trend this spring 2021 is the cardigan set - a cardigan paired with a matching tube top.  I picked up this short cardigan for only $14 - and styled it with this matching tube top that was only $4.  This crop cardigan also comes in a spring lilac-purple color and black.

 I know "skinny jeans" are supposedly "what's-out" - but I still love them.  And, for now, they are classic and my favorite style.  I think they are the most flattering.  And, I have a feeling it will be a few years before they are totally out - and they may never go out of style, kind of like other styles of jeans. And, seeing that these jeans sold out in popular sizes within a week means they are still pretty popular.

Also, notice a trend with my style - I tend to buy solid colors in neutral colors, like white and black.  I just looked back through my feed - and I am wearing a lot of white!  I will be sharing some color later this week, I promise - be sure to check back.

I hope you had a great weekend.  I shared this leopard turtleneck sweatshirt on Instagram over the weekend.  It is definitely a cozy sweatshirt - with fleece lining.  And, I love the color!  I am not sure it is a "keeper" - it is a more boxy-fit and I would say it runs large.

I spent my weekend cleaning - and re-organizing (and watching some college hockey and football).

Today, I thought I would share a few things I have learned from online shopping and selling recently.

#1. Abercrombie has the best customer service.  Their chat and phone lines are open at 7am EST in the morning - and you immediately get to speak to someone on the phone (and on the chat).  And, they are located here in the US and operated by people that speak English as their native language. The person I spoke with actually heard my concern, and said that they regularly review input and make changes - and I believe the guy was being honest that they do review customer input.

#2. Avoid PayPal for online shopping.  I ended up with a problem with a return not being credited back to my account.  I went back-and-forth with the merchant and PayPal - and it took a few days to be resolved with a lot of effort on my part. I was never able to speak to anyone on the phone at PayPal - it all had to be handled over chat - and each chat was with a new person - and they could not understand a simple problem.  If I had used my credit card, it would have been one call to Chase and the issue would have been fixed immediately. I am always connected immediately to a customer service person - and they are always amazing!

#3. I successfully sold some items on eBay - not everything - but I am fairly happy with the effort and time, and the payout. Now, I am deciding if I want to list the remaining items on Poshmark.  Any feedback from those that have sold on Poshmark?

Did you catch my post on Monday with 10 ways to style cognac boots? Just in case you did not - you can check it out HERE.

There are so many ways to style cognac boots. I would definitely classify them as a wardrobe staple.  I love the cognac color mixes so well with the leopard print and grey, and so many other outfits. I want to go out and buy this coat, jeans, and wear this entire look head-to-toe, including that necklace!  If you don't want to invest in a leopard coat - you could always opt for this $18 leopard sweatshirt - in the same color and print - to re-create the look.

One thing I wanted to mention, a lot of people like these dark wash grey jeans.  I ordered them - because I really like them, too.  As far as sizing, I think they run slightly big.  I ordered them in my typical size - and I think they would be better in one size smaller.

Did you have a nice long weekend?  I extended my long weekend - and decided not to post yesterday.  Sometimes it is good to just take a break!

Today is an exciting day... our new sofa is being delivered.  Our front room has been without a sofa since July - and currently is housing furniture we are trying to sell.  Anyone else try to sell furniture?  It is not easy to find buyers.  Our furniture is in good shape - and no one wants to buy it.  

In addition to our new sofa, we also needed to get some new tables.  I picked up these side tables - and this cocktail table.  I was so happy to buy them during the buy more, save more sale!  I saved a lot!

Shopbop is having its Friends & Family sale this week.  You can get 25% almost everything - use the code INTHEFAM.  It is a great time to buy those things you have wanted to get - but wanted to wait until they went on sale.  Shopbop offers free shipping both ways - so there is no additional cost.  I always look for places that offer free shipping - especially free return shipping.  If you are not careful - shipping costs can add up.  So, it is best to find the places with free shipping.  Nordstrom is another place I like to shop that offers free shipping both ways - or you can even pick it up in the store.

As you may have noticed in my look yesterday - I like to pair leopard with yellow.  It depends on the shade of the leopard print - but in most cases, I think it works really well.  Denim is also a nice layering piece to add to the look.

Be sure to stop back tomorrow.  I will be back with the women from The Blended Blog to show how we style a spring sweater.  With this crazy weather (a snow storm on Saturday) - it is kind of difficult to dress for spring - but soon the snow will be gone and warmer weather will be here for good.

Lastly, my husband and I are in the process of updating some furniture and possibly remodeling our kitchen.  (Oh how I would love to remodel our kitchen.) We have lived in our house almost 15 years - and it is time for a make-over.  It is funny how all of sudden - things feel "old".  I just bought this table yesterday.  It will be here in a couple of weeks.  And now, I am in the process of picking out the chairs and upholstery.  (Only bad thing is that the chairs will take at least 10 weeks to arrive.) I may take a deviation from styling outfits a few days - and show some room updates instead.
