Happy Easter & My Reading List

As I have mentioned before, I am not a "girly girl" when it comes to fashion.  Midi skirts and florals are not exactly my style; however, in thinking about spring (and Easter this weekend), I am putting together one look that I have styled two ways -- one more edgy (with black and gladiator sandals) and the other more feminine (with pink and floral sandals).



STYLE ME BLOGGERS SERIES : My Reading List
This week is also my Style Me Blogger series where we are discussing what we have been reading. This one is kind of out of the norm because I typically talk about all fashion and style, and this is more personal.
Be Anxious for Nothing by Joyce Meyer
For me, this past year has been one of my most difficult years.  Looking back, I have made it through things I never thought I could have dealt with.  I have gone through the immense pain of loosing my dad unexpectedly, and the many trials I have had to deal with associated with his death.  I will not go into details, but it has been more than I could bear alone.  In the midst of my deepest pain, I have been anxious.  My nature is to worry and think ahead to “what if's", but I have to constantly remind myself that I do not need to and I should not! I am learning (trying) to be joyful and hopeful in everything!

“To live in the fullness of the joy of the Lord we must find something to be glad about besides our current circumstances. The world is full of people and situations that are never going to please us….We must learn not to fret or have any anxiety about anything but in everything to give thanks and praise to God. Then the peace that passes all understanding will be ours.”

Someone recommended this book a year ago, but I didn't think much about it.  Then, I started hearing more people talk about it, so I bought it. Now, I, too, highly recommend it. It is amazing how true each day's passage is - like this one...

This is a book by blogger, Erin Gates, who has a great sense of humor. This book takes the reader through each room of her home with associated personal stories.

I have had a subscription to InStyle since 1998.

  6. Lisa, I'm so sorry for your pain and grief this year with the loss of your dad. I've been through something similar and this hits close to home. I'm glad you were able to find some books to bring you comfort. And as always, your style boards are impeccable! I wish I had your skill with those!
