What to Wear Holiday Parties & Giveaway

This is my holiday shopping list (either store or my closet).  I plan to take one item from each group and mix & match them for all different holiday looks - from Thanksgiving dinner, work party, dinner out with friends, New Year's, etc.  The idea is to show how one item from each group is all you need to create a lot of different looks.  So, check back every Tuesday and Thursday through New Year's as I mix the items above to make multiple different looks.  Hopefully, it will provide you with some holiday style inspiration.   It should be a lot of fun - and a fun challenge. This is what I wore last Friday.  I layered a chunky knit sweater over a striped turtleneck. It added warmth - plus it added a little extra style.  I got both of these recently at Forever 21 for a steal.  I have really found some great clothes for a perfect budget price - definitely recommend checking out what they have - plus they are a fast fashion type store - so clothes are continually turning over.

What are your thoughts on the tribal print, poncho, legging trend?  I think it looks comfy for winter but still dressed-up.  I have been looking into getting a pair of leggings - these get great reviews (over 1000 - 5 star reviews),  plus they are only $27.   I would probably wear them with my slouchy boots and either a poncho-type sweater or a layered sweater (like this one that is 40% off today) and a shirt (or even this cardigan or this one - both under $35!).

Comfy, warm sweaters are something I look for for fall/winter.  I found this sweater recently at Nordstrom, and it is super soft and warm, plus it is washable - which is something I always look for in sweaters.  I do not want to pay extra for dry cleaning.  I recently tried J. Crew cashmere wash for a few of my sweaters, and it really worked well.  And, it smells good, too.  I got this leather jacket a few years, and I love that the faux fur collar is detachable - so I can wear it year round - and also, attach the collar to other jackets, like my denim one.
