Fair isle sweaters (like this one, along with plaid)have become a few of my favorite trends this season. I picked up this hand-knitted sweater during the Cyber Monday sales. These pictures were taken after Christmas - and as you can see it was not a white Christmas, but don't let the sunshine deceive you - it was definitely cold enough for snow. I thought it was going to be warm because of the sun - but I was wrong - it was freezing. This sweater however did a good job of keep me warm.
There are still a lot of sales... and great items left. Although, I have to mention that I am pretty bummed. I had watched for this faux fur sweater to go on sale at Banana Republic - and it went on sale - and sold out before I got it!
This is what I am wearing today - Day 16 of the Winter Style Me Pretty Challenge. I have gotten a little side-tracked and have not been keeping up with all the days, but, I am sure these lovely ladies have... so be sure to check out what they are wearing. Also, thanks to all the link-up girls - I have enjoyed getting to know you and being a part of your group.
Also, I have been layering shirts and sweaters and wearing a lot of plaid lately. I kind of get stuck on something and go with it - so you might see this again. I think that is okay - to be comfortable with what you are wearing - and this is a comfy, easy look!
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve - so I wish everyone a Merry Christmas (and if you are looking for something to wear - and want to mix it up a little try red and gray (instead of the expected green)!
Bargain Finds: I got this plaid shirt during the Black Friday deals at Forever 21. I have mentioned this before, but I have found the best deals at Forever 21 - plus I like the fit of this shirt better than the one that cost more at Banana Republic. I might even get another plaid shirt (or this one). Also, these Ann Taylor boots were another bargain find - they were on sale, plus an additional 60% off. They are very comfortable and the leather is buttery soft, plus I love the gold zipper on the outside. Ann Taylor has good boots - but I would not pay full price for them. In my opinion, they are priced too high at regular price. My advice - wait for a sale - there always seems to be a promotional deal.
What is your Favorite Holiday Tradition:
Also, I am joining with other bloggers today to present our favorite Christmas traditions.
Thanks to Brooke and Erin of Pumps and Push-ups and their great idea and for organizing this.
Take a moment and enjoy reading about other bloggers' traditions. Christmas is only a little more than a week away.
A collared shirt and sweater is a favorite combo of mine. It is a classy yet casual look, plus it adds an extra layer of warmth in the winter. My favorite button down shirts are from Express; however, they no longer carry the one that buttons at the neck. The only ones they have are notched (somewhat v-neck), which are a little too open at the neck under a sweater. I am hoping they bring back the original shirt because it had the best fit, and was easy to wash and iron.

[And, a funny, well really not funny story... if you notice in the close-up picture with the watch and leopard pouch, my wedding rings are not on my finger. Midway through taking pictures, I put some lotion on my hands. As usual, I took off my rings to put on the lotion. Well, I forgot to put my rings back on my hand. Fast forward to after taking pictures - I am in the car ready to drive home - all of sudden I think - where are my rings???? I could not find them. After a little panic and searching, I found them in the back pocket of my jeans. (And, if only this was the first time. Over my years of marriage, I have managed to wash them (in the washing machine - full cycle) and another time, I put them on top of my luggage at the airport and then walked to my flight only to realize I had dropped the rings somewhere along the way (on a terrazzo floor!) - good news I found them - and those are only a couple of stories - there are more!)
That one strand of hair that continually wanted to blow across my face - even though it wasn't even a windy day, or my eyes shut...
Plaid is extremely popular right now. Here are just a few ways to style it and some accessories and shoes, like these plaid pumps that just came back in stock. I think they would be perfect for the Christmas season (and even this winter).
If you are trying to figure out what to wear to your Christmas parties this year - I have a few more looks based on my shopping list. I have created one dressy and one casual look. These looks can also be modified to fit what you have in your closet. You could easily swap out a pencil skirt for the midi or skinny jeans for the boyfriend or if you want to make the casual look more dressy, add a fringed skirt or dressy pants. If you are like me and like to mix dressy and casual, here are few looks.
Be sure to stop back next Tuesday for another Christmas lookbased on my shopping list!
This faux fur collar is actually from my leather jacket I wore here. It is detachable which is great because I put in on in the winter, and take it off in the spring, so my leather jacket can easily be worn all year. Also, I can attach the faux fur collar to my denim jacket for a different look. (I got the inspiration from these looks.)
These outfit photos were taken over a month ago when the temperature was warmer and leaves were still colorful... now it is COLD, and all the leaves are gone, and it has even snowed a few times...
I am not sure about you, but I love watches. I like switching out my watch depending on what I am wearing. I have a couple of bracelet watches (silver and gold), but have not owned a leather strap one in some time. I have been looking at leather strap watches because I think they are a something new from all the metal bracelet ones. Recently, I was introduced to Daniel Wellington. They are a company out of Sweden, and I am so impressed with the new watch I got. (It arrived on Wednesday and I wore it right way the next day to Thanksgiving.) The watch is both sleek and sophisticated. And, it is super light weight. Also, I like that it can be dressed up or down. Today, I am wearing it with with a cozy sweater, skinny jeans and slouchy boots - but I also plan on wearing it with a more dressy look.
I am offering my readers 15% off (Code: holiday_dailystylefind) on all Daniel Wellington products through December 31st.
Plus, free worldwide shopping + free gift wrapping with the purchase of an extra strap.
